  • Markings/Details: This rifle retains its “MUM” (Chrysanthemum) marking, a marking often removed during the surrender process and typically retained on captured rifles; the cleaning rod is included; the rear sight has the provision for anti-aircraft sight wings, though it is unclear if these wings are missing or were never included since, depending on the arsenal and period of manufacture, these wings were often not included because of design changes; included is a bayonet with scabbard, marked Kokura Arsenal and featuring a hooked quillon –
  • Condition: Very Good; the metalwork retains above 90% bluing, showing scattered minor surface oxidation, the magazine floorplate and guard show heavy pitting; the stock shows typical surplus scarring, bruising, and a few minor chips; the bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling and obvious wear; all mechanics are solid, the action is smooth with a tight lockup; the bayonet is Good; the blade shows typical wear, discoloration, and a gray patina and has not been sharpened; the handle and quillon show typical minor surplus wear; the scabbard is Poor, showing heavy rust and denting, but works as designed, fitting over the blade nicely  –
