A reproduction of one of the first cap and ball revolving carbines — You are considering a Uberti 1858 Remington Black Powder Revolving Carbine with bonus .45 Long Colt conversion cylinder. Between 1866 and 1879, only around 3,000 of the original guns were produced. Lightweight, this rifle comes in at only 4.4 lbs with an overall length of 35.3-inches. It features an 18-inch tapered octagonal barrel adjustable rear sight with screw-in dovetail front blade sight. Its standard 6-shot cylinder is chambered in .44 caliber and uses a suggested ball diameter of .454″ to .457″ — The conversion cylinder holds 6-rounds of .45 Long Colt/45 Schofield cartridge ammunition, which functions by way of six individual firing pins built into the removable backplate. This conversion cylinder pops in and out of the rifle with ease, a neat addition to a number of .44 caliber Uberti black powder models. This rifle features a glossy well-figured walnut stock, blue steel frame, and brass trigger tang and butt plate. Overall, the condition is Excellent; it shows only minor wear from limited use and gentle handling. The metalwork is above 98%, showing only minor blemishes. The wood stock shows draglines and typical small impression marks. The bore is Excellent, showing stronger rifling and no erosion.
