Sporterized Finnish Carcano M38 Bolt-Action Rifle

Sporterized Finnish Carcano M38 Bolt-Action Rifle

You are considering a vintage Sporterized Finnish Carcano M38 Bolt-Action Rifle. This is a sporterized example of a World War II Finnish Contract Italian Made Carcano Model 1938 — around 60,000 of these were made for Finland by the Royal Italian Army prior to the outbreak of the war. This particular rifle is in good shape but does have a few things to note. The wood stock is in fair condition but does have a crack running down the neck of the stock from the tang — otherwise, it’s in good shape but has been sporterized by removing the top wood and forend hardware. All the metalwork is superb and sports its original blued finish with no major issues present. The barrel measures 21-inches in length and includes its original front blade and rear notch sight. The bore is dark and pitted but has very strong rifling — it would shoot well. It is chambered for the 7.35x51mm Carcano cartridge. The bolt locks up tight and the action cycles smoothly without hangup. It is missing its rear tang screw.
