You are considering a vintage Savage Arms Model 101 Single Shot Pistol. Chambered in .22 LR with a 4.25″ barrel. This pistol features a blued barrel, black alloy frame, and wood grips that sport the Savage Indian logo. Overall this pistol is in Excellent condition; the metalwork retains above 90% of the original finish, showing minor wear on the high points. The wood grip panels are Excellent; they show nice figuring and grain pattern and only minor wear. The bore shows minor fouling but shows defined rifling.
The Model 101 is a unique and somewhat niche firearm in Savage Arms’ lineup. First introduced in the 1960s, the Model 101 looks like a traditional single-action revolver. However, looks can be deceiving. It isn’t a revolver at all but rather a single-shot pistol.
