You are considering a vintage Savage Adjustable “Rack & Pin” Early Rear Sight Assembly. These sights were offered on 1899 rifles until around 1920. They are a 3/8″ dovetail and will work with the Savage Model 99 and other rifles that use this size dovetail. This sight is marked with the patent date Sept 26, 1911. The condition is Good; considering the age, this sight retains a fair amount of original bluing, showing typical wear and scattered oxidation freckling. The screw and aperture show some rust and may require cleaning . The elevator step is included.
