You are considering a vintage Custom 38-Caliber Percussion Black Powder Rifle — it was built to resemble an 1860s Black Powder Cap & Ball Rifle with a Reproduction Henry Parker Warranted Lock mechanism. It’s in excellent barely-handled condition. The tiger-stripe woodwork is in great condition with no standout damage — just some light scuffing and minor handling and storage wear. The metalwork, likewise, is in fantastic shape with no discernable issues — very light highpoint wear — with the finish retaining all of its blue. The barrel measures 38-inches in length and includes a front blade sight and rear notch sight. The bore is 38-caliber and does not appear to have been shot through. The locking mechanism is labeled Warranted (though it’s new and was not made by the famous HPW of the Civil War Era). The lock functions as it should and passes a light-thumb push test. It’s not the most forceful of mainsprings, but it would work.
