You are considering a vintage early production Carl Zeiss Zeilacht 8x Rifle Scope with European Claw Mounts. Originally developed in 1922, the Zeiss Zeilacht rifle scope was the first scope to combine high magnification with great light collection intended for low-light shooting. These scopes were popular among civilian shooters, and have been photographically documented on WW2 German Sniper Rifles. While this particular scope bears no markings of formal military use, it was produced before the war began as it bears a four-digit serial number. A Zeilacht scope was prominently featured in the 2001 film Enemy at the Gates on Major König’s K98 Sniper Rifle.
This particular scope is in good condition with finish wear, some small dents, and a notable scratch on the left side. The elevation adjustment mechanism remains functional and the glass is clear. This scope features a German No. 1 reticle and comes with European-Style Claw Mounts. Pick it up today to complete your K98 Sniper-Clone Project!
