Black Diamond Pigeon Grade Winchester Model 1897 Stock & Barrel Set

Black Diamond Pigeon Grade Winchester Model 1897 Stock & Barrel Set

You are considering a vintage Black Diamond Pigeon Grade Winchester Model 1897 Stock & Barrel Set manufactured in 1900. It includes everything you see pictured and is in remarkably good shape for its age — however, it does have a few things to note. The metalwork is original and has not been refinished; the factory knurling atop the barrel looks great and has no issues. The front sight was replaced with an aftermarket aluminum bead. The woodwork is in excellent condition for its age, with the action-slide handle having very light handling, usage, and storage wear — no standout issues like cuts, cracks, or gouges. The buttstock is minty for its age, but it has a tiny piece missing from the top where it connects to the receiver (noted in pictures); otherwise, it’s in near-perfect condition. The barrel measures 28-inches in length (unusual for this time), and the bore is bright and shiny with some light pitting forward of the chamber, typical when using black powder cartridges during this transformative era.
