You are considering a vintage Rare Variation Toyoda Automatic Loom Arisaka Substitute-Standard Type 30 Sword Bayonet. Made for the 7.7mm Substitute-Standard Type 99 short Rifle, although they will mount to any of the Japanese Infantry Rifles. It’s in good condition for its age and features an unfullered blade that retains about 90% of its bluing. The blade length is 15.5-inches, and its overall length measures 20-Inches. It features a straight crosspiece, rectangular pommel, and riveted, slab-sided wood grips. The bamboo scabbard is in great shape for its age, with some wear and no major imperfections or splits. This rare Late-War Substitute-Standard or “Last-Ditch” bayonet was produced by Toyoda Jido Shokki Seisakusho (Toyoda Automatic Loom Works) under Nagoya Army supervision. Toyoda made bayonets from 1938-1945. Pick it up today to add to your Arisaka rifle collection.
