You are considering a vintage BSA 1943 Short Magazine Lee-Enfield No.1 Mk III* Bolt-Action 303 British Rifle. Century Arms imported it out of Albans, Vermont. The rifle has a nicely figured hardwood stock that’s in all-around good condition but does have a repaired crack on the left-hand side near the knuckle (the repair is starting to loosen and will need buttoning up) — it also has a slight crack forming on the right-hand side near the receiver bridge. The metalwork is excellent but was refinished at some point, as there are several patches of arrested rust pitting. It was done in a nice parkerized finish, and the metalwork has no issues or concerns — most of the rifle’s markings are still legible. The barrel measures 25.20 inches in length and includes its original front blade sight and a rear adjustable leaf sight — the bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling and no major fouling or pitting concerns — it would twist lead accurately. The action is sound, and everything locks up nice and tight — it has its original buttplate and sling swivel hardware.
