1894 Vintage Marlin Model 1893 Lever-Action Rifle | 38-55 Winchester

You are considering an 1894 Vintage Marlin Model 1893 Lever-Action Rifle chambered for 38-55 Winchester ammunition. This is a nice example of an early production Marlin manufactured in 1894 with the serial number 96663. The metalwork retains only ~25% of its finish, and nearly all of the bluing has turned into a brown-rust-patina. There is typical wear around the high points and some rough scratching near the rear sight. The woodwork is in great condition except for the amateur checkering done to the buttstock and forearm — there are no cracks or deep gouges, and the buttplate fits nicely. The barrel measures 26-inches in length and includes a Rocky Mountain front and rear sight — the bore is surprisingly bright and shiny with strong rifling and some minor fouling and pitting. The lever and action function as they should, and the sear passes a light thumb-push test.
